Component Familiarization
Immersion Tank (C2)
-
OLED display & control button – system status, pump start/stop
-
C14 power inlet – 200–240 V
-
Coolant inlet (bottom) – marked “IN”
-
Coolant outlet (top) – marked “OUT”
-
Cable passthrough grommets – power + Ethernet
-
Overflow trough – fill reference mark
-
Drain port – 4 screws, bottom plate
Dry Cooler
-
Coolant inlet (higher port) – from tank outlet
-
Coolant outlet (lower port) – to tank inlet
-
C14 power inlet – 200–240 V
-
EC fan array – variable speed
-
Exhaust vent – rear
-
Control box (behind 4 screws) – mode toggle switch
Installation Location Guidelines
-
Permanent placement – once filled, relocation is messy and risks spillage.
-
Outdoor dry-cooler option – shade mandatory; avoid direct sun.
-
Airflow clearance – ≥ 0.6 m (2 ft) behind dry cooler.
-
Max tubing length – 5 m standard; contact Exergy for extensions.
-
Max elevation difference – ≤ 3 m (10 ft) between tank and dry cooler.
Step-by-Step Setup
1. Unboxing & Inspection
-
Open tank and dry-cooler cartons separately.
-
Photograph any damage and contact support@exergy.engineering within 24 h.
2. Verify Kit Contents (see table above).
3. Hydraulic Connections
-
Insert gaskets into hose quick-connect ends.
-
Connect hoses without cross-flow:
-
Tank OUT (top) → Dry-cooler IN (higher)
-
Tank IN (bottom) → Dry-cooler OUT (lower)
-
-
Hand-tighten; do not overtighten.
4. Miner Preparation
-
Attach lift handles to front bezel of each miner (4 screws each).
-
Insert fan simulators into miner fan headers (prevents error 0x02).
5. Load Miners
-
Lower rigs vertically using handles; ensure PSU faces cable passthrough.
-
Route power + Ethernet through grommets; seal lightly.
6. Electrical
-
Plug C13 cords into tank and dry cooler C14 inlets.
-
Connect to 200–240 V circuit (≤ 15 A per leg recommended).
7. Initial Coolant Fill
-
Place oil pump discharge into overflow trough.
-
Fill until fluid reaches overflow groove (≈ 45 L).
-
Draining note: remove 4 bottom-plate screws; reverse pump hose into drain port to extract residual fluid from internal piping.
8. System Power-On & Circulation Prime
-
Press OLED button → enters self-check (≈ 30 s).
-
Internal pump circulates; level drops ~10–15 L.
-
Top-up to overflow groove again; repeat until level stabilizes (± 1 cm).
-
If pump cavitates: open red exhaust valve on pump until steady flow, then close.
9. Miner Networking & Hashing
-
Connect miner power cords to PDU.
-
Connect Ethernet; scan 192.168.x.x subnet (Angry IP Scanner, etc.).
-
Configure pool URL/worker in miner UI (default login: root/root).
-
Long-press OLED button → cuts miner power (emergency stop).
10. Dry-Cooler Mode Selection
| Mode | Activation Temp | Max-Speed Temp | Toggle Position |
|---|---|---|---|
| Normal (cooling) | 20.5 °C | 28.9 °C | Switch UP |
| Heating (hashrate heat) | 41.3 °C | 49.7 °C | Switch DOWN |
For Dry Coolers Manufactured after June 2024 - AC/FC Control
The updated Fog Hashing dry cooler for the C2 immersion tank features AC/FC fan modes, providing precise control over cooling and heating performance.
Note: All dry coolers manufactured after June 2024 include enhanced AC/FC fan control as standard.
AC Mode (Automatic Temperature Control)
AC mode automatically adjusts fan speed based on a target oil outlet temperature (the fluid returning to the immersion tank).
Activation & Configuration
-
Press the dial inward (like a button) until AC flashes on the display.
-
Rotate the dial to set your desired target temperature.
-
Default: 45°C
-
Recommended for balanced miner cooling and heating efficiency.
-
Operation
-
The system dynamically increases or decreases fan speed to maintain the set outlet temperature.
-
The display cycles between:
-
HI: Inlet oil temperature (entering the dry cooler)
-
LO: Outlet oil temperature (returning to the tank)
-
FC Mode (Fixed Fan Speed Control)
FC mode runs the fans at a constant speed, regardless of fluid temperature.
Activation & Configuration
-
Press the dial → rotate to FC → press again to confirm.
-
Rotate the dial to select fan speed:
-
1 = Lowest speed
-
99 = Highest speed
-
0 = Fans stopped
-
-
Press the dial to confirm your selection.
Operation
-
Fan speed remains fixed at the selected value.
-
The display continues to cycle:
-
HI: Inlet oil temperature
-
LO: Outlet oil temperature
-
Quick Reference Summary
| Mode | Control Type | Adjustment Method | Display Behavior |
|---|---|---|---|
| AC | Automatic (temp-based) | Set target outlet temp via dial | Cycles HI (inlet) → LO (outlet) |
| FC | Manual (speed-based) | Set fixed speed (0–99) | Cycles HI (inlet) → LO (outlet) |
Tip: Use AC mode for energy-efficient, temperature-stable operation. Use FC mode for testing, diagnostics, or specific airflow requirements.
